Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not sure I want to teach yoga. Can I still do teacher training?

Absolutely. Regardless of your desire to teach public classes, YTT is a great avenue to deepen your knowledge and practice. Generally, only a handful of students go on to teach public classes, but learning the skills required to teach is a transformative experience for all participants!

How do I know if this is the right training program for me?

Teacher training programs are unique to their studios and lead trainers. If you resonate with the community, practice, and teachings at Solstice Yoga, this is the right program for you!

If you haven’t taken class with us, we highly recommend you take class with Naomi Pritchett, as she is the lead trainer of the Yoga Teacher Training Program.

How long should I practice yoga before doing a teacher training?

There is no right answer to this question, however, a foundational yoga practice is highly recommended so you have a baseline to grow upon as you begin YTT.

An “advanced practice” (mastery of difficult poses) is not required!

(You can participate in and complete YTT even if you are recovering from or dealing with chronic or acute injuries.)

What if I can’t make all of the required training dates?

In order to receive your certificate of completion, you must be present for 90% of the in-person training (which allows you to miss one weekend of training). This time must be made up.

If missing more than one in-person session, there will be a fee associated with making up the missed time.

How does the payment plan work?

We’ve partnered with Affirm to offer payment plans up to 24 months at $3,500. Affirm allows you to choose your payment plan length with no additional interest.

Once finalized, all future payments are handled by Affirm.
Please note, the 12-month unlimited membership is only valid for 12 months.
Payment plans are available until 8/1 without a deposit.
After 8/1, a $25 non-refundable deposit is required.

Are you registered with the Yoga Alliance?

We are not registered with the Yoga Alliance. The Yoga Alliance is simply a registry and there is no actual accrediting or governing body in yoga (like ACE or NASM in the personal training industry). At the end of our training, you will be a certified yoga teacher (CYT), but not a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher (RYT).

While we include many aspects of the 200-hour requirements of the Yoga Alliance, we significantly expand upon them to ensure a more comprehensive and practical learning experience. Our program spans various yoga styles and movement modalities, tailored to meet the diverse needs of today’s students.
