Solstice Yoga FAQs

Are your classes heated?

  • Yes. Currently, all of our classes are heated between 90°F-97°F by infrared heat.
  • We chose infrared heat as it ensures that your body receives heat without the need for circulating forced air. Infrared heat encourages a more intense sweat compared to traditional heating systems, while keeping the air less humid and more breathable.
  • Scientific studies suggest that infrared heat therapy provides a range of therapeutic benefits. These include potential pain relief, stress reduction, improved sleep quality, and an overall enhancement of well-being.

I'm new. Where do I start?

  • All of our classes are open to all levels, however, some may be more accessible as you get started.
  • For a slower practice, Yin and Restore are floor-based practices. This is a great place to start as a beginner.
  • Flow will start slow and build in intensity and speed. This is designed for all levels, so you will receive modifications and descriptive cueing so you know where to go.
  • Yin can feel challenging for those who hold a lot of muscular tension in their body, however, it is a floor-based deep stretch practice and modifications will be provided.
  • Vibe and Practice are intermediate power yoga classes that are geared towards those who have an established movement practice or have been to several hot yoga classes.
  • No matter what you choose, introduce yourself to your teacher and ask all the questions! We’re here to help you find what feels right.

What do I need for class?

  • An open mind, clothing you can move in, and a water bottle!
  • We have rental mats & towels, we sell water but encourage the use of a water bottle that you can refill at our water station.

What is your studio etiquette?

  • Check-in at the front desk and let the teacher know if it’s your first time.
  • Be on time for class — doors lock before class starts.
  • Wear clean, breathable clothing to class, and avoid wearing heavy cologne or perfume.
  • We encourage getting to know the community! Chatting before class is ok, but please be mindful of those around you who may be seeking peace before class starts.
  • Shoes off before you enter the yoga room, we recommend practicing barefoot (without socks).

Are there any health conditions that will restrict me from participating in hot yoga?

  • Please consult your physician if you are currently experiencing cardiovascular issues, respiratory issues, heat sensitivity, or pregnancy.
